Hey Bobby fans . . . . remember that the Turner Classic Movie network is showing "That Funny Feeling," starring Bobby, on New Year’s Day at 10 pm. The same network is also showing Bobby’s Oscar-nominated performance in "Pressure Point" on Jan. 16 at 9;30 am.

At 22 years old, I just watched what I believe to be my first ever Bobby Darin movie. Perhaps I’ve seen him in others, but nothing that struck me quite like this adorable little movie. That Funny Feeling with his lovely wife, Sandra. He was wonderful in it and I’m saddened that he passed at such a young age. He will be missed.
328. Lydia - 2011-12-28 01:25:44
Love Bobby Darin and everything that stands for him in the way of entertainment, rights, so on. Sandra Dee and Bobby Darin...beautiful music...look at the beautiful music they made that is known as Dodd Mitchell Darin. How wonderful!!

326. John McKeon - 2011-12-22 13:59:29
I was a fan of Bobby Darrin as a kid. Last night I saw the movie that Kevin Spacey did and it brought back many memories. I still enjoy listening to Bobby’s music today, and have made sure my kids have been exposed to this great singer. I hope there is a special place in heaven for Mr. Darin.

321. Dino - 2011-12-21 02:32:21
I recall driving along and listening to the radio when they announced that Bobby passed 38 years ago today. I never knew that he was ill. I assume that he kept it quiet for professional reasons. Nowadays you know too much regarding the entertainers. He was one of the best and vastly underrated except by his peers.
320. Su Cote - 2011-12-16 20:21:13
Happy Birthday Dodd.
319. - 2011-12-15 12:43:52

316. Nurse Jane - 2011-12-13 04:15:10
Bobby performed at Wollman Rink in ’72; I skated there ’66-’68 and my mentor Dr Eisenhrandt has a gold plaque on the wall. All three of us connected to that special place. Every night I watch Bobby’s videos and listen to him sing or talk. I keep him alive in my heart and mind. Thank you for Our time together. Love Nurse Jane
315. Elaine - 2011-12-12 05:17:48
Simply "Wonderful".....
314. steve - 2011-12-10 20:29:53
Grew up with the big bands dad was a drummer so music was a huge part of my life...Bobby Darin was the epitome of "cool"...he ran his own race and won on his own terms...he’s in my ipod and I listen to his music all the time. Bobby is a true rock Bobby!!
313. Arnaud goujon - 2011-12-10 14:42:40

312. Gueyono - 2011-12-10 11:46:40

311. Dorese - 2011-12-06 00:33:06
I was born too late (I was born in 1962) to remember ever hearing Bobby Darin’s music on the radio or seeing his television specials or even having the honor and privilege of seeing him perform. HOWEVER, ever since I can remember, I loved his music. I would listen to " Saturday nigh oldies shows" on the radio in my early teens. I’d call in and request Splish Splash and Mack the Knife every single Saturday. There is something absolutely magical about Mack the Knife and I credit that song to my love of Swing and Big Band music today. I am sooooooooo grateful that God gave us the gift who is Bobby Darin. He was a very young man when he made his mark on music. I could only wish that "entertainers" in their 20’s and early 30’s could come close to having the talent that he had. What a gift! Thank you for sharing this gift with us.
310. leah - 2011-12-05 17:23:44
I’m 29 years old and love all different genres of music but after watching Bobby Darin; The mack is back~his 1973 NBC concert special, I can’t get enough of it. I’ve seen Kevin Spacey’s portrayal and have to say that although I loved the movie, Spacey can’t even come close to the charisma and musical ability that I watched in the man himself!! I’m a huge, huge fan and absolutely LOVE Mr. Darin’s version of Midnight special! UH~MAZING. Such a loss to the entertainment world when Bobby Darin passed away. I love you, Bobby!!
309. Jane G. - 2011-12-03 06:09:13
Bobby was my favorite singer as a young teenager, especially because of his songs,"SplishSplash" and "Mack the Knife".I saw the movie,Beyond the Sea,today, and was taken back in time because of Kevin Spacey’s powerful performance!
308. Hunter Harsch - 2011-12-01 05:25:33
Just watched That Funny Feeling with Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee!! I absolutely loved it!
307. Sharon Chavez - 2011-11-30 09:12:11
think Bobby was one of the best singers of that time and kevin Spacey does a great doing him. Dodd should be proud of both parents. I miss them both
306. Mary - 2011-11-28 22:30:42
Thank you for the great music,I love Bobby Darin’s Box Collecton of all his greatest songs. Thankyou Dodd Darin.
Bobby and Sandra did a good job raising Dodd .
305. Howard - 2011-11-28 21:47:15
I just watched "Beyond the Sea" for the first time waiting for my misdirected luggage to arrive. I have to say I am truly thankful the airline lost my luggage! I just spent a couple of the best hours I can remember watching the movie.
I am only in my early 50’s but I remember Bobby from his music (especially “Mack the Knife” from my birth year.) I also remember Sandra Dee from her numerous movies. This movie helped me remember how much I loved both of them.
Dodd, I don’t know if you still visit this site any more but I hope you do. Your parents brought and still bring joy, laughter, and yes, even a tear or two. You are very blessed to have had such wonderful parents.
May God bless you and your family, always.

I was in Las Vegas when I was 15 hrs old. That was 1958. Bobby D was my favorite, he had done "Mack The Knife", I loved it. My friend and I were in the lobby of a casino/hotel. I saw Jack Benny, George Burns, and Bob Hope and their wives. Went to get autographs from them. While they were taking time to sign my book an announcement was made over a speaker, telling Bobby D that he had call. I tried to excuse myself from these great legions to go find Bobby D. George Burns took me to where he was in a coffee shop in the hotel and sat me down with Bobby to visit for a few minutes. GB also sat there with us. Obviously one of the best memories of my life. Dodd, you had a great dad.
299. Elan Gee - 2011-11-22 01:54:29

284. Melanie J Harris - 2011-11-12 02:13:11
I was only 8 years old when Bobby Darrin became a Rock n’Roll
idol. I remembered him for "Mack the Knife", mostly, a song
I didn’t like very much at the time. One day, I happened to hear the song,"Theme from a Summer Place", which was and still is one of my favorites, so I decided to order it. In doing so, I ran across Bobby Darrin’s story, because of his relationship to Sandra Dee, who was connected to that song for obvious reasons. When I read about him, I knew some of the information from the movies and the tabloids, but needless to say, I was so impressed with his accomplishments, that I have bought 2 CD’s so far, and plan to buy more. He truly was a legend and a genius for his time! Today, I am 61 years old, married, and I am in "love" with this man!
See, we had something in common. I, too, had Rheumatic fever as a child. It is just so unfortunate and unfair that he didn’t get a chance to be cured with the "new" life saving drug--penicillin--that became available right after that time. What a SHAME!
I know things are the way they are supposed to be, so I guess we just have to say, It was "The reason he was living", so to speak, so fast and yet so full,
Bobby, where ever you are, I tip my hat!
A new fan 33 years later!,
Melanie J. Harris
283. Angela Miller - 2011-11-10 02:22:37
I used to watch old comedy romance movies from the 60’s with my Mom and remember a few with him in it. I am 50 now and just watched "If a man answers" with him and Samdra Dee. I loved it; was the first time I saw that one. I still love the old movies. I always did like Bobby Darin’s voice and acting but he was really before my time in music.
282. Susan - 2011-11-02 14:12:59
I must say that I didn’t know much about Bobby Darin until I saw the movie about him starring Kevin Spacey. What a perfect actor to play Bobby. What a life. Too bad it was so short. We love his songs.

America’s loss. So little talent out there today, and it’s only made more obvious by Bobby’s absence. He set a standard that we have not seen met in years.

Bobby visited Boston in 1957 to appear on the local TV show "Boston Ballroom. I was a student from Gate of Heaven High School and was one of the dancers for that show. He introduced a new song which I think was "Splish Splash".

I just saw the movie Beyond the Sea and watched an interview with Dodd on You Tube.
I am fascinated with Mr. Darin, his love for his wife , son and family and his incredible voice and major good looks!! I was very young when Mack the Knife hit, but always had a crush on him with that mischievous smirk and slanted eyes.
Have a happy life , were loved.
Bobby, wish you were here.

Cindi - 2011-08-16 22:24:26
Hi,I saw the only the ending of the movie,"Beyond The Sea" today. It got me curious about the man that I have never forgotten when I saw him perform on TV. I think it may have been on the Ed Sullivan Show. He was truly amazing! The mischievous glint in his eyes was what really got me! He was singing,"Mack the Knife."
Of all the singers with big bands and that typical pop sound back then, his is truly memorable. What a wonderful tribute your site is to him! He is sorely missed! I was only eight when he made "Mack" such a hit, but I remember seeing him on many shows as a young teen. Love his sound and soul!

208. Mercy in South Florida - 2011-07-17 22:43:06
I have been on YouTube almost the whole night listening to all of Bobby’s songs... what a style!!!
I love the way he moves... the way he sings... his voice is sexy!
I read that he thought he wasn’t that much attractive... he got it wrong... I think he was the most gorgeous man I have ever seen... I would have taken over Elvis anytime!
By the way, Kevin Spacey did a great job performing Bobby’s songs... I almost melted.
If I would have been around his time, I am sure I would be his #1 Fan! Love you Bobby!!!

I met Bobby and Sandra Dee when he was filming "Hell is for Heroes. His car battery was dead & I was in the right place at the right time. I got the battery charged and wouldn’t take any money. He told me he would never forget me. (I was a kid of 16 or 17). He was a very nice guy.

196. Joseph L. - 2011-06-13 03:46:25
"Mack the knife" has to be the best song ever.
If Bobby would have lived another 30-40 years he would have surpassed Sinatra.
Mr. Bobby Darin you were the greatest!

I have been a Bobby Darin fan since 1963.
194. Lesley Miller - 2011-06-12 20:41:35
Every time I hear Bobby sing, it takes me back to my early years. I loved his voice and still do. He was an entertainer just like Sinatra and Buble. I was so sad when I heard that he had died. Far too young but he will always be remembered. RIP

My appreciation of the genius of Bobby Darin continues to grow the more I hear his wonderful songs, watch his movies and read of how he transcended the illness that finally took him from us at such a tragically young age. He was one of a kind and is sorely missed.
191. Ned Paul - 2011-06-11 21:03:45
I loved Bobby since I saw him live in N.Y.C. & in Albany N.Y. back in the fifties. One of his greatest performances was Darin at the Copa. There will never be another. R.I.P.

HI,I live
in england and am 73 My first love affair with music from a very early age was the immortal Al Jolson secondly Buddy Holly and of course Bobby Darin. What AL created Bobby carried on as arguably the greatest exponent of the american song book there has been.Had he lived and not gone so young there would have been no argument, you might go your way but not by yourself as you have thousands of followers with you,and the party isnt over as long as mackies back in town and people get up at kareoke and do a Darin number
185. Roberta Healy - 2011-06-06 15:45:38
I always refer to him as "The Late Great Bobby Darin". He earned this title many times over.
184. Rob stein - 2011-06-05 23:39:38
I never realized how great Bobby Darin was until I heard "Simple Song of freedom". And to find out he helped Richard Pyror and George Kirby!
He is one the great members of the Rock and Roll hall of Fame and the most courageous for his social stand!
Thank you Bobby!

What an amazing talent - like many of the fans on here, I remember my parents having Bobby Darin’s albums; when Bobby died, I was in junior high and didn’t quite ’get’ why both my father and mother burst into tears upon hearing the newscast. Now, I’ve spent the last 35 years reading about him, seeing him paid homage to in American culture, listening to his re-releases - on and on. When I tell people that Bobby Darin is right up there w/my favorite actors such as Steve McQueen and Robert DeNiro, some are surprised - but after looking up "Captain Newman, M.D.", they come back to me and announce, "Ohhh....". This man deserves all the praise that continues to come his way, and I hope that somewhere, somehow Bobby knows that one of his greatest worries - that he would be forgotten after his death - will never, never happen. Thank you for maintaining this site!

177. Chris - 2011-05-28 16:55:40
HELLO,I am old enough to have listened to Darin as a teenager,Dream Lover and other pop hits, when he turned "square" and did Sinatra type records we(ME AND OTHER TEENS !) felt something was wrong and showed no interest.Well I have a different view now.I always remembered Mac the Knife, his first "betrayal of pop/rock",eventually,some 30 or so years later,I began to like it.Recently I began to think, what other swing stuff did he do....well a few weeks later after many hours using google, amazon and other sites,I had found out.AND WHAT A FANTASTIC SURPRISE IT WAS,FABULOUS SONGS,WHAT A BRILLIANT LIVE PEFORMER,HE COVERED SO MANY STYLES OF SINGING AND DID IT ALL SO VERY WELL.I now am the happy owner of many Darin CD’s,including some difficult to obtain ones, they were bought in "used" condition from and, also ebay, cheers chris

172. Dave - 2011-05-25 22:36:34
I remember his appearance on the Flip Wilson Show. I really loved his appearance. I remember so shocked when he died. I often wonder about him and my grandfather, who also died a couple years earlier. How long would they have lived with the technical advances we have today. I didn’t know much about him then, I do now. And part of Bobby Darin’s legacy is that he was a spokesperson for the American Heart Association.
171. chris Holden - 2011-05-25 16:12:49
just discovering mr. darin, this guy was a great talent!
170. Hugh Bracey - 2011-05-25 15:17:28
I have been a fan of Bobby Darin since 1958 and my one regret was that I never managed to see him in a live performance.(I was at school in York, UK in 1958)
If only he had lived he would most certainly have fulfilled his own prophecy/ambition of becoming "the next Frank Sinatra".
169. Jeffrey Vogel - 2011-05-24 23:17:10
I’m 63 years old and have just discovered the beauty and significance of Bobby Darin’s music and life. My interest was triggered by seeing him perform "Sing a Simple Song of Freedom"- a song sadly still very relevant today. His performance on the "Mack is Back" DVD is perhaps the greatest I have ever seen.
168. David B - 2011-05-24 17:15:30
Bobby was one of the greatest singers of all time. I absolutely love his songs and especially his rendition of "I left my Heart in San Fransisco" - legendary.

I’m 17 years old, i have been a fan of Bobby Darin for about a year and a half. His music has meant so much to me. I prefer older music. And you can’t get any better than Bobby Darin. He was purely amazing! So I want to thank him and wish him a Happy Birthday!! Happy Birthday Bobby!!
P.S I’m listening to WHPC radio, online! It’s great, I’m really enjoying it, 3 hours of Bobby!!
John Gilbert (johnnyjazz) - 2011-05-14 17:39:00
Bobby Darin was head and shoulders above them all including Sinatra and Bennett. He had more chops than any of them. I did not like Kevin Spacey as BD, He was far too old looking and resembled Babe Ruth more than Darin.

Hi, I am Petra from Germany. I know Bobby Darin since 2 years. I am so fascinated by his awesome performing and entertainment and I was touched by his illness and how he handled it and how brave he was. Now I am one of his biggest fans and I collected nearly all of his music, which accompanies me through the day. „It’s today “ – ; his 75th birthday. Thank you for all. I drink to that.

153. Cheryl Komor - 2011-05-13 07:08:29
There's no doubt in my mind that a better entertainer didn't exist. He would have INDEED outdone Frank Sinatra would he have lived longer. His talents didn't quit - or DIE.
Thanks for the moment to share!

I can’t explain in words how happy I was this week, when my five year old daughter watched When a man answers with me and announced "Mommy, this isn’t YOUR movie, it’s OURS!" She loves the beauty that is Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee. And I loved that she loved it as much as I do. Thanks for this site and keeping the memories of Bobby alive. He was my original heart throb. ... Cindy & Emily

Just finished watching "Beyond the Sea" I thought was exceptional! I would tell everyone to watch that movie. I listened to ’Bobby Darin’ while growing up. I was just 10 in 1960 but my older sister had the biggest crush on him. She played those songs over and over so I naturally now can still remember the words and sing along. Thank you for sharing ’Bobby Darin’ life story in such an incredible movie. His music will live on forever!!

143. Kai Ellis - 2011-05-04 08:52:31
Hi, my father Jerry Hansen worked as the recording engineer on Bobby Darin’s album "Born Walden Robert..." My father was killed in 1970, he was 33 and I was 12. I am trying to find out if there are any pictures of my dad. I have the album and find it is one of my favorites. I know from my mother that between the time my father died and Bobby Darin died that he would contact her to find out if she had found out anything about his murder and how my sister and I were doing. Thank you for your time,
Kai Ellis

Bobby Darin was such a huge talent - he could sing, wrap an audience around his finger, write wonderful songs, dance, play instruments and the list goes on. Too bad the world only had Bobby for 37 short years but we can enjoy his recording both audio and visual forever. I melt when I hear him sing "Once Upon a Time" and laugh each time I watch Bobby with Jimmy Durante. RIP Bobby

I’m a contemporary of Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee and remember well the love that we all had for Bobby and his music. Today, I saw for the first time, the film "Beyond the Sea" with Kevin Spacey and was taken back to those romantic and sometimes sad years (Viet Nam). My husband and I took my brother, a returning Viet Nam vet to see a documentary film about his platoon and were on the way home when we heard about Bobby Kennedy’s death. The world was devastated and we mourned with all who wanted this war to end. Thank you, Bobby, for singing the words that were in our hearts. We miss you. Dodd, thank you for sharing your parents with all of us.
102. Karen Johnson - 2011-03-26 21:47:33
I have always loved Bobby’s music, but one day I was going through some pictures of my husband and it was freaky. His graduation picture look just like Bobby. Since that time I have become more engrossed in his life and music.
I think Kevin Spacey was fantastic as Bobby, and the movie was amazingfrom start to finish.
As long as everyonecontinus to play his music, Bobby willlive forever.

I was a huge fan of both your Mom & Dad, but since I ended up in the music biz as a singer, your Dad was an important influence on me. As I write I am listening to Bobby singing La Bamba.
However many years ago on vacation in America I bought a Bobby Darin album on the Motown label, it was a memoriam album - are there any plans to release this on cd?
Over the years I have bought almost every Bobby Darin cd released to replace the vinyl albums but so far this particular album has never been released on cd.
It’s wonderful to have such a range of Bobby’s recorded output and the dvd’s are great too - what a polished and talented performed Bobby was and he is still missed.

I have loved Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee all my life. His movies still leave me weak in the knees and I LOVE their movies together, especially "If a Man Answers". Bobby’s music is at the top of my list. His rendition of "This isn’t Heaven" in the movie "State Fair" is one of the most beautiful ballads I have ever heard. Bobby and Sandra were so beautiful together, it was obvious they were deeply in love.

I remember seeing him in Indianapolis In when he performed at a Birch Bayh Campaign. It was magical. I only wish I could have seen him live again. I’m sure you always hear this, but Bobby & Sandra Dee were like a fairytale all girls wanted to have. To be beautiful and talented like Sandra and married to a man who seemed so captivated by her.
68. Ted Page - 2011-02-22 21:17:57
Great site and tribute to more than an iconic legend. My earliest memories was my dad playing homage to Bobby’s raw talent and stage presence. Although my father and mother suffer terrible medical issues, remembering my father sing ’If I were a Carpenter’ to my mother years ago provides me peace and comfort. The coolest thing is the torch has passed down musically to my own son’s songwriting.
67. Wild Wilson - 2011-02-21 23:06:58
Dodd, wanted to first thank you for writing such an interesting and enlightening book! Being a year older than you I remember as a kid when I use to see your Dad on Laugh-In. Certainly have enjoyed his music all these years. What is great too is through your book I got to enjoy other works from your parents that I might have never gotten to. I was amazed that you were able to put all that together in a year - you musta worked night and day on it. I don’t read a lot of books as I’m so busy with much, but I enjoyed the couple of months it took me to read it, but maybe because of that I was able to savor it and experience the other stuff that I wrote about and more that I will - thanks to you, your father, and your mother! - WW

63. Arlene Shephard - 2011-02-14 23:11:09
I’ve always been a fan of Bobby Darin. As an african american woman born in 1955, Bobby was hip, real and cared about people. Every time I see the movie beyond the sea it’s a reminder of how interesting of a person he was. Old Bob had sole and rythem, and he was quite handsome. It was cool he had the opportunity to marry Sandra for a period of time because they were both good looking people. He is missed.

The first record I shared with 2 other friends as we had no money to buy one outright at the time was DREAMLOVER/BULLMOOSE we played it and played it,a very exciting time, I was 12yrs old
60. joanne - 2011-02-11 17:20:25
This is my second time on the list. I have just been listening to "Softly as I leave you" When I hear it, it makes me think of when he passed. How he wanted those he loved to feel.
I just got Mack is Back. Only one complaint. When I saw Simple Song of Freedom listed I was hoping for the song not just the chorus.
Is there any dvd that has Bobby doing the song? I have seen it on You Tube.
I loved his sense of humor. When I think of the early days of SNL he would have been perfect for a host.

I am moved to tears, each time I hear the smooth, smoky voice, see pictures, sing along and dance across my kitchen to the finger-snapping swing that I love so much. And NO ONE could do it like Bobby! I’m my humble opinion, he was bigger than Sinatra - more diverse, more stage presence, more of everything. I would have loved just to have stood in his shadow. His son Dodd’s book was an eye-opener, but somehow, through this wonderful bio, brought me to an even deeper love and respect for a talent who was not given his due- perhaps in heaven, he’s been given the "real thing." No more artificial flowers. Bobby, you are missed!

My family rented "Beyond the Sea" starring Kvin Spacey and was stunned. I don’t know how I missed it in the theaters--a huge regret. It not only rekindled memories of when I first heard songs, I’m now aware of the Web site, of availability on quality CDs which I hadn’t known, and admit it made me a bit of a Spacey fan.
I was unaware of the much deserved 2010 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award until now (even more meaningful as another favorite will get one in 2011--the Kingston Trio.)
The awards honor my tastes, and affirms that music, although often painful, doesn’t need to bend civility limits to be enjoyed a half a century! Please keep the Web site updated!

I am watching a folk music special on PBS and they just featured Bobby Darin singing,"A Simple Song of Freedom" and I cried all the way through it. I remember all the stages that Bobby went through in his all too short career and I loved the music and message of every stage. He is so very much missed and his music will move people forever. Thank You Dodd for sharing him with us. God Bless You

I have always enjoyed Bobby Darin’s voice, his confident spirit, and his "cool class"....A great talent and musician, and nice to know a great man who loved his family and friends...You can’t ask for anything better than that...Though he passed away way to young, his music and his vitality still lives on...Bobby Darin "The King of Cool Class"!!

I think that my wife and I saw Bobby Darin’s last public performance. It was the last night (he may have even been filling in for someone else; I just can’t remember) and he apologized for not feeling well; he said that he had been given a number of shots that day because he was taking his family on an (presumably overseas) vacation. I am not positive of the venue; it was either Lake Tahoe (South) or Reno.
Without question, Bobby Darin was the greatest performer we had ever witnessed (and we’ve seen a bunch!). I could have listened to him for hours. He was amazing in every way. No hyperbole!!!
Before that evening’s performance, I knew who he was (of course, he was a very big and very popular entertainer); however, I did not know how vastly talented he was. I am now 70 years old and have seen the best (everyone from Sammy Davis Jr, Wayne Newton, Ray Charles, Bob Dylan, Patsy Cline, Tony Bennett, etc.) and as talented and great as those mentions and unmentioned are, Bobby Darin is in a class all his own. One night’s performance has made me a lifelong fan.
Thanks to the sponsors of this site to allow and (hopefully) promote the memory of (in my opinion) America’s greatest entertainer!

I went to Vegas this past december and saw Bobby’s "star" on the Vegas strip. Oh how I wish he was alive today. Bobby could rock, swing, and croon with equal aplomb. For this and many other reasons he remains a favorite of fans around the world. My favorite Bobby tune is "Rainin." It should have been a top 10 hit. They don’t make e’m like Bobby anymore!

Just saw the Kevin Spacey movie, Beyond The Sea. I grew up on Bobby Darin songs and this era holds great importance for me. I must admit that I was not aware of the challenges that occurred in his life and the strength that it took to overcome these adversities. A great talent and human being. Sometimes true recognition comes along after the curtain has fallen.

When I was a teenager I loved Bobby Darin’s music and was very happy when he married his love, Sandra Dee. They looked like a couple on top of a wedding cake! Too bad they couldn’t keep their marriage together. He was such a talented singer and was taken from us way too soon. The man packed a lot of living in his 37 years!

I remember listening to Bobby’s songs on the radio and being really shocked when he passed away.
I was watching the John Sebastien special on PBS this past December and saw Bobby performing "Simple Song of Freedom" WOW!!!!!! I was blown away I didn’t remember the song. I always remembered "If I was a Carpenter" but not that one.
Went out and got "Beyond the Sea" like Kevin Spacey. Then I started looking him up online WOWWOWWOW!!!!
I just got "Beyond the Song" Love it and the fact that he was so respected in the industry. Looking back at his work with Jimmy Durante, George Burns. To have the respect of these men.
I love hearing him do Broadway tunes I am going to order Live at the Copa and am waiting for "Shadow of your smile/In a Broadway Bag.
Question; What are the chances that his TV series of the early 70s exist intact for dvd? I love the bits and pieces I have seen of it.
Thanks for carrying on for Bobby

Bobby was cool. While in grade school, whenever we’d go to the local pizza shop for lunch, I’d always play a Bobby Darin song from the jute box. One guy always used to kid me about that, but I’d get back at him because he always played "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". My brother and one of my sisters also liked Bobby. Looking forward to hearing him sing again in the Kingdom.

Bobby you were my inspiration,I was one of the UK’s stable of rock n roll singers in the late 50’s early 60’s, I was discovered by Cliff Richard when I was 19 years old..My demo record was my version of "Dream Lover" which landed me a contract with COLUMBIA Records here in the UK,so I was always grateful to you, like you I took the criticism for wanting to be an all round entertainer, but with your example I moved on...and at 70 yrs old I still do concerts, often using Big Jim Sullivan as my Guitarist who accompanied you on your UK appearances..You are forever in my thoughts.."Sweet Dreams" Bobby, you are in good company with that Great Choir in the Sky....Dave.

I love Bobby Darin. He was so sexy and such a great singer.
I listen to his video just about every day. He and Sandra Dee were such a darling couple. Their son, Dodd, looks like his father and is a very handsome man. I miss Bobby, but I know he’s at peace.
